Leash Training Dont's-Do not let your puppy pull you around. Leash training your dog will solve the problem. Many people try leash training on their own only to end up frustrated, yelling and screaming at their dog and pulling on the leash. It is very helpful to train sit and stay before leash training your dog.

Keep the leash loose at all times. Don't wait until the puppy is clear at the other end of the leash, pulling ahead before you take action. Use a quick tug, then immediately release so the leash is slack again. As soon as your pup learns leash manners, you can switch to a regular collar for walking. Many people try leash training on their own only to end up frustrated, yelling and screaming at their dog and pulling on the leash. Other tools your use when leash training your dog include a leash, a collar or harness, and tasty food treats.
